Onibaba

"Yo Kid!"

"Whaddup Homie? I got crazy hiccups son!"
"Boo! Are they gone?"
"Nah son, they're driving my fucking crazy!"

I rented Onibaba from Netflix a couple of weeks ago. It was rather odd, but really beautifully shot. And I can't get over how ill that mask is. Will you carve me that mask and give it to me? I promise I won't wear it.

Toy Story 3

Hell yeah. I'm hoping maybe when it's time to do my internship I might be able to go work at Pixar. that would be sick.

I remember watching the original Toy Story when I was 6 years old at the Roseville 4. It was, up to that point, the greatest movie I had ever seen. (The winner before that was a tie between the Lion King and Aladin).

Toy Story 2 was pretty terrible, which is unfortunate. However, the video game for the N64 was surprisingly fun. I remember I spent about a week one summer beating that game. I miss that, I need to get a game system again, those days were great.

This video is funny in that it is posted by someone named Juan Manuel, which is my dad's name.
Anyway, Toy Story 3, you got my attention.

I just resolved my legal troubles

One long day in a courthouse later, and I am free from the arm of the law. I celebrated by eating at Quang's and then taking a 6 hour nap.

I now am awake, and in an attempt to fall asleep watched "Bottle Shock" which I thought was going to be a documentary and turned out to be a feature film based on a true story. Now I wish I had a glass (or bottle) of Atteca, my favorite wine so far, to make me fall asleep. If you ever get the chance, drink some Atteca and eat some beef. If you saw my earlier post, you can follow that up with a hot shower and cold beer. Then you will open your eyes and realize you are in heaven.

How do you pronounce that?

Blogotheque. It took me a long time to figure out it was pronounced like discotheque, not Blog-O-The-Q. I feel stupid. But...

Most of those of you up on music and the internet probably already know about this, but it is the project of a Parisian filmaker to document musicians in interesting and intimate settings. I really enjoy the musicianship, as well as the bare bones feel and sound of the music. I discovered this now almost three years ago and probably watched Grizzly Bear's performance of "The Knife" a hundred times. (Also, not part of blogotheque, but awesome, check out this performance).

Anyway, here's a really nice Bon Iver performance.

And the original culprit:

This one's for Himmes:

I also watched MAN ON WIRE tonight, and it was great. I recommend everyone watch it. This trailor is good, but it doesn't do it justice. The footage of Phillipe walking the wire is really amazing.

Friday Friday

I am wearing an awesome shirt that says "Lock It Up!" and features a picture of Don "Campbellock" Campbell.

I started the day off watching a documentary about Frank Lloyd Wright, which I did not make it all the way through. I've eaten three granola bars today, and I'm about to hit up the Cleveland Wok aka the motherland aka the best. It's at my little brother's request.

I am very tired, but it's time to snap out of it and jump on the old bike-a-roo.
Oh, and my best gal has a new blog and she talked about yarn-bombing, which is something I've never heard of and thought was very cool, and she is too.

Sionara.
