I hate filing the FAFSA every year, especially since schools keep bumping the deadline earlier and earlier. Am I really expected, and should I expect of my parent's to have filed their taxes before February 1st? Can't you just remember that I'm broke? I promise. My pay to date on my last paycheck was dismal, don't worry government, I really do need the money. AHHHH!
Sorry, I'm a little frustrated because I read that in the fine print of my application to Pratt which is due in five days. I have to remember to call my highschool and get them to send my transcript as well. And put together my portfolio & writing samples, and teach the Constructive Criticism class because Dan is still out of commission. Plus the new semester. BAH! I dropped my "Introduction to Design Thinking" class because it's focussed more toward industrial design and apparrel design rather than what I thouhgt it was going to be, and it was a five credit course. I tried to trade it for a course titled "Magic in the Contemporary World" because I just wanted something fun, but it couldn't be done. Apparently I need the professor's approval. Instead I'm taking the history of cinema. Sorry to bitch and moan, i just feel a little swamped plus I'm not looking forward to lugging both my painting and sculpture supplies on the bus to school tomorrow.
However, not everything is looking down, in fact I'm generally excited about life and really excited about the prospects of going to a new school. There's just a lot of extra work at this end so I'm wearing myself a little thin.
While being frustrated with the FAFSA I decided to take a Youtube break, and through some very simple searching found clips of the Buena Vista Social Club, which I'm a big fan of. My cousin Luis turned me on to them when I was but a wee lad (12) and I didn't really understand why he was so excited until a few years later. In fact, the first movie I ever received from Netflix was the Buena Vista Social Club documentary, which not only deepened my love of the group (as well as making me want to quit school and start an Afro-Cuban band) but also cemented my relatioship with Netflix.
This is how I hope to be when I'm old. Really. I fantasize about it.
Anyway, back to homework.
Oh yeah, I painted a picture of my taxedermied cat. I'm really hoping that I get into RISD so I can paint the collection of their dead animals. Because I'm a creep.
